Is every r/<state> subreddit owned by Leftists?

Was just banned without explanation from r/texas for mild comments about CRT in grade schools. Much stronger comments than mine posted - assuming they were banned too.

I've scanned a few other state subreddits before, and they seemed dominated by Leftists as well.

*EDIT*

Proposition: would it be possible/usable to use post flair on /r/Conservative to circumvent these Leftist owned subreddits? Just using regions as an example, adding Midwest, Southeast, Northeast, Northwest flair to avoid /r/<state> subs.

I’m banned from r/Florida for praising how Desantis handled the pandemic and made Florida an economic powerhouse vs. Trudeau.

r/Texas is the same way, and sadly it looks like most cities & towns have been infected with the left's NPC / Bot talking points.

I hate to say it but it seems like r/SanAntonio is a lost cause.

r/Minnesota banned me for making a point to my neighbors that George Floyd shouldn’t be deified

Edit: r/Minneapolis banned me for that one. r/Minnesota banned me for comparing Keith Ellison to Al Franken and pointing out why one got cancelled and not the other. Also r/twincities banned me for connecting woke orthodoxy to the recent firing of the Hamline professor for showing a painting of Mohammed. I live in a fun state

Ooo someone in the SA area. Hello

Besides that all subreddit which you would considered main stream names. States, City, religion, etc are all controlled by power mods. Who mod multiple subs and are mostly rabid leftist.

If you're lucky, there might be alt subreddit like r/lonestar but it's always left populated.

6

It was a post where people were complaining about the transplants and I effectively said that as a Canadian I want to move to Florida because we are on a continuous downward trend to Florida’s massive positive upward trend.

You know your governor is a powerhouse when the current presidential candidate of the GOP is on the offensive and you are both not in the same league and have not announced any intention of attempting to take their throne.

8

u/spyder7723 Feb 07 '23

The florida city subs are just as bad. Whenever I look at my city sub (sarasota) it gives the impression we are rivaling San Fran for left wing ideology. But truth is this city and county is about a 70% conservative population.

4

u/imlafn Feb 07 '23

I got banned from r/Orlando because someone asked about the why the ER at ORMC (hospital) downtown is always packed. I recounted my only experience in there when the nurses called out a woman who just wanted to be admitted for a free bus pass. They told her she already got one this week. I guess I'm rayciss, even though I never mentioned any identifying characteristics of the scammer, was literally pointing out that people go to the ER for all kinds of illegitimate reasons that wouldn't occur to most people. In fact, makes the mods rayciss for assuming she was not white. And they weren't wrong.

5

u/spyder7723 Feb 07 '23

The word racist is thrown around so much it has lost all meaning. It's gotten to the point that being called racist is confirmation you aren't racist.

Vs Trudeau? Florida and economic powerhouse compared to Canada?

As a Canadian, I can say straight up that we love Florida, and a large portion dislike Trudeau (I don't care I don't vote.). Why would you bother comparing a US States economic prowess to Canada? Three US States have more GDP than all of Canada (not Florida). Florida is amazing, but why compare to Canada?

3

u/BoC-Money-Printer Feb 07 '23 edited Feb 07 '23

Because quite the opposite happened in Canada with rampant lockdowns and policies that actively reduced our economic output even now while people are en mass hurting.

I wasn’t comparing total output, just the variation in how each respective leader had an impact on the quality of life of their citizens.

Yes, the Virginia subreddit now bans you if your total comment karma in that sub is -25. Anything conservative posted in there gets downvoted, so it will be very easy to hit that limit.

Of course, the mod who created this policy also moderates VirginiaDems, and for some reason mods the RuralVirginia subreddit despite also moderating for several big Virginia cities.

Rural areas are obviously more right leaning, so why would a city-dwelling Democrat be a mod in the rural subreddit other than to censor posts they don't like. This mod also posts political stuff in the Virginia subreddit all day.

You wouldn't believe how many Leftist/Atheist types who complain because the area they've moved to is fairly Religious and that they are the only or one of a few Atheists in the area they've moved to, Yet they still don't listen to advice to pack that moving van for someplace more Liberal.

u/triggered2019 Federalist Conservative Feb 07 '23

Yes reddit is literally filled with pinkos who would bend over backwards to gatekeep you out of their communities.

2

u/FrederickTheStormer Christian Conservative Feb 07 '23

But the Leftists get upset when this subreddit practices gatekeeping due to the vast flood of upset Leftoids who come here to complain and whine in posts that aren't flaired.

2

u/TotalJML Feb 07 '23

This shouldn't come as a surprise honestly unless the point of the subreddit is to be not leftist/progressive in nature or there are aspects that are considered conservative I think it's fair to say the boomers and their parents don't come onto reddit as much as the younger generations.

r/virginia and r/nova are

I'm banned in the latter for literally citing facts on masks.

5

u/Prose4256 Feb 06 '23

I believe your correct , I just got banned from human beings being Bros for commenting great job to the folks making sure African American women get in their cars safe in downtown Detroit. I suggested they expand the program to all woman, and they said that was racist and banned me, just crazy I gave them a compliment.

2

u/skinem1 Feb 07 '23

I saw the post about the men in Detroit, thought it was great. I did wonder, however if they would apply the same service to women of other races. Frankly I doubted it. And did not bother asking…

4

u/Jab2hook Feb 06 '23

Idk about r/illinois but I am banned on r/chicago. I seriously think that sub is full of some of the dumbest morons you'll come across on reddit. They give r/politics a run for.their money

2

u/ExpensivLow Feb 07 '23

Lol I got banned for being mad a private school was handing out butt plugs to children. And of course the crime post ban is absurd.

5

u/Jab2hook Feb 07 '23

Oh yea. I remember that. They were defending it. Makes me wonder how many of the users there are pedophiles

3

u/HoleyerThanThou Feb 06 '23

I get banned from subs just for participating in this one.

So you’re telling me Reddit is full of lefties?

5

u/itsallrighthere Morning in America Feb 06 '23

All I've seen is r/Texas. Bunch of leftists who seem to hate the lone star state. They could always leave...

4

u/j1mmyB3000 Feb 06 '23

Yes and not open to discussion on meaningful issues. They will talk about what an asshat trump is all day though.

1

u/slankthetank Rightwing Californian Feb 06 '23

Dude this entire site is owned by leftists. There’s maybe a dozen subs MAX that the majority of members are conservative or libertarian

3

u/Klesko Conservative Feb 06 '23

Almost every sub reddit is moderated by communist.

3

u/juggernaut1026 Feb 06 '23

r/NewYork is but it is actually entertaining as the democrats controls all 3 branches of government and have a supermajoroty. There are so many problems in the state and it is fun to watch people try to spin it as not being the democrats fault or being like it would be much worse with a conservative. The best is when they try to double down on bad policies

3

u/Peter_101 Feb 06 '23

I got perma banned from the Arizona one for commenting that the governor race seemed unfair due to all the ballots not working in large counties costing Lake the win

2

u/newguy_1234 Feb 07 '23

I wonder what would happen if I went in and pointed out that the person who "won" was the one overseeing the election. I'm sure no conflict of interest there.

4

u/childresscj Feb 07 '23

r/texas is a liberal cesspool, they’re not even close to representing what Texas is about. I think the left in general have dominated the majority of subreddit’s.

1

u/meekdizz Feb 06 '23

Yup. Every state subreddit is basically r/bluecityinthatstate

2

u/AbjectDisaster Constitutional conservative Feb 07 '23

2

u/StevieTank Feb 06 '23

Conservatives are the productive sector

2

u/neverending_debt Feb 06 '23

Well, what type of person would want to waste time moderating the comments of others on a website they don't own, have no say in operations, and don't get paid?

If you answered a leftist then you're generally going to be correct. That's the most likely person to seek pointless authority.

2

u/thissidedn Feb 07 '23 edited Feb 07 '23

Isn't this the subreddit that doesn't allow non flair people to comment?

3

u/dachiz Conservative Feb 07 '23

You mean non-flaired? I do see post flagged as flaired users only.

Guess my idea is terrible the more I think about it. For this reason and the fact that it would not be open enough for non-conserative regional topics.

Never mind individual subs; you’ve just described reddit as a whole.

u/Pagayer- GenZ Christian Conservative Feb 07 '23

The Maryland one is pretty bad too. I originally joined for praise of the superior state flag and crab memes but now it’s 99% political (lefty) bullshit and ranting about hypothetical nazis. Even saw a comment the other day suggesting the Maryland flag should be replaced because the crossland banner is a confederate symbol.

I mean, I get it, Maryland is a lefty state, but as an MD native it’s still pretty depressing.

1

u/tx001 Feb 07 '23

The r/texas subreddit is also flooded with posters that do not live in texas because reddit is absolutely obsessed with Texas and creams themselves at every blown power transformer that takes out power to a block for 1 hour because they think it's the grid failing.

1

u/ron_fendo Conservative Feb 07 '23

I got banned from r/entertainment for pointing out how they loved Bill Maher when he was going in on Trump but now they don't like him for calling Biden out.

1

u/Comfortable-Heron450 Feb 07 '23

I got banned from a green group called conservatives for speaking the truth. Reddit is mixed with fake and real groups. The damn balloon keeps passing our way
