Can anyone explain this soap bubble in our dish soap that sporadically floating and moving on the same invisible plane? Is this a glitch in the simulation?

Thin bubble film across the bottle, soap bubble gliding along it with minimal friction.

467

u/yowzas648 Feb 05 '23

Which is “conveniently” popped before the closeup on the bottle at the end…. Suspicious…

412

u/IAmASeekerofMagic Feb 05 '23

No, not "conveniently", but consistently, as physics usually is. The film degrades over time from evaporation, not to mention the physical stress of a drop's weight rolling on top of it, redistributing the soap in differing thicknesses. What suspicion do you have? That it's actual magic?

164

u/GreatLookingGuy Feb 06 '23

I believe the suspicion is that OP knew what they were doing.

56

u/IAmASeekerofMagic Feb 06 '23

I hope that's what they meant when they replied, because my co-worker and I nearly fell out laughing when I read it and we both said, "what, that it's real?" at the same time. After laughing so hard, that's the only way I could understand it.

My apologies, Reply Guy, wherever you are! Hope you know it was all in fun and I wasn't being hatefully snarky.

u/IAmASeekerofMagic Feb 06 '23

LoL, I've never thought about it before. You get 10 cool points on top of whatever karma this generates.

Note: Cool points are non-transferable, have no monetary value, and void where prohibited.

2

u/Ko8iWanKeno8i Feb 07 '23

Luckily my local 24 hr gas station clerk's preferred currency is Cool Points. I might be able to run him out of stock with these actually...

Omfg, I’m just now seeing this. This may be my favorite reply in the eternity of the internet 😂🤣

All good my friend. I was definitely referring to it being intentionally popped before the closeup, but upon re-reading, I 1000% see why you thought that.

u/GiraffeandZebra Feb 06 '23

If they did, then they are fucking stupid to think it fools anyone. It's plain as goddamn day there is a bubble film layer there that breaks.

2

u/sideswiped Feb 06 '23

Suspicious…

Big Bubble doesn't want you to know they exist.

2

u/AssRep Feb 07 '23

I think you are right. She pulls her finger away and lets a tiny amount of air in thru the tiny hole she covered up, this popping the film.

u/budtrimmer Feb 06 '23

I was gonna say swamp gas reflecting off Venus. But you're probably right ✅️

3

u/Yellow_Triangle Feb 06 '23

Though, I once heard about going with the most obvious and likely explanation when you are in doubt.

Your explanation makes way more sense in that context. I mean, minimal friction, that only happens in physics assignments.

4

u/Resinate1 Feb 06 '23

Yes, surface tension strong enough on bubble to hold blue bubble and lubed up like a Friday night whore

4

u/TheRobbie72 Feb 06 '23

I think the thing gliding along it is just excess soap, no air trapped inside

3

u/TheRobbie72 Feb 06 '23

Which is why it disappeared as it reached the edge, since the soap drop simply stuck onto the bottle, like how if you had a water droplet on your finger and poked a wall, that droplet would stick to the wall and spread out

2

u/Stachel14 Feb 06 '23

yeah, it‘s the part of the thin film, where the liquid is trying to drop down from

2

u/CynicCannibal Feb 06 '23

I can't believe you really had to explain this.

u/mack_lunky Feb 05 '23

Why do you act like there isnt clearly a layer of soap on the bottle? ‘Invisible plane’ indeed.

6

u/CptFeelsBad Feb 06 '23

I was gonna say OP solved the “r/blackmagicfuckery” when they pulled the bottle right up into the camera. Mystery solved by OP long before they even thought to make this lame post.

Yes

Well, which one is it?!?!?!?!

25

I’ve been wondering if people post deliberately stupid things to farm karma. As it makes us all talk about how stupid it is.

Soap bubbles aren't black magic fuckery, OP.

46

u/StonerSloth125 Feb 05 '23

Idk if this is a joke but you can clearly see a layer of soap holding it up

4

u/noinnocentbystander Feb 06 '23

Wait where?? I’m trying to see this layer of soap but I can’t

12

u/StonerSloth125 Feb 06 '23

The ring inside, looks like a circle. As soon as it pops it starts dripping down the bottle

9

u/noinnocentbystander Feb 06 '23

Ahhh ok so you’re saying there was a thin translucent layer (kinda like a flat bubble) and the little bubble is bouncing off of it? I guess my eyesight sucks lol

11

u/StonerSloth125 Feb 06 '23

Yes exactly but i wouldnt say bouncing off of it, its more gliding/sliding on it

2

u/peepay Feb 06 '23

Ah, I thought that was some kind of crease in the material of the bottle.

2

u/BattleAnus Feb 06 '23

You can see the dark line that goes in a roughly circular shape right above where she's holding, which then "pops" although there's still a bit of a shadow since it looks like there's also a curve in the bottle right there

It's the chinese surveillance balloon

2

u/MLL_Phoenix7 Feb 06 '23

The NCD leaks are really getting out of hand…

10

u/mikeperson229 Feb 05 '23

Yes it’s a glitch in the simulation obviously. Don’t listen to all these bots trying to rationalize it to you in the comments. It’s obvious a glitch in the computer system we’re all living in it’s the only rational explanation

10

u/jah2107 Feb 06 '23

In Texas we say “well, bless your heart” to people like you.

9

u/Windfall_The_Dutchie Feb 05 '23

The “invisible plane” is the larger bubble. The smaller bubble is sliding around on it. You can see the ring around it created by the larger bubble.

4

u/DixenSyder Feb 06 '23

Well, it’s a bubble…with a drop of soap on top of it

3

u/Luchador_En_Fuego Feb 05 '23

This is some hot bubble on bubble action

3

u/cpcesar Feb 05 '23

It's Satan sending a message.

3

u/FCC_Diablo_26 Feb 05 '23

"Glitch in the simulation" 🤓

3

u/Wolfmoulin69 Feb 05 '23

They are 100% just that dumb my friend

3

u/redfalcondeath Feb 05 '23

Yes this must be black magic from the devil himself.

3

u/Chronien Feb 05 '23

A bubble formed inside the bottle, very similar to a bubble wand and there was a bead of soap on top of it

3

u/d4v3k7 Feb 06 '23

There’s a fucking bubble you kook

3

u/DaddyDoyle88 Feb 06 '23

Seriously? It's a bubble with a drop of soap on it

3

u/supagirl277 Feb 06 '23

There’s a film across the top that a smaller bubble is sliding and bouncing on

3

u/formulanerd Feb 06 '23

must be nice to be simple (¬_¬ )

3

u/Roman-Kendall Feb 06 '23

God you’re an idiot

3

u/Candid_Toe4114 Feb 06 '23

Clearly a soap ring holding it up. Please don't have children, thanks.

3

u/Alarmed-Code3530 Feb 06 '23

Too much time on your hands

2

u/SoupCrackers13 Feb 05 '23

Uh oh OP, looks like some malevolent energy at work! It’s time to salt and sage your home!

2

u/johndoe73684168 Feb 05 '23

Be careful with that, if you spin the bubble 3x clockwise you might accidentally open a portal to another realm and the Soap People will invade ours.

2

u/mathandkitties Feb 05 '23

The "plane" is the location where the forces acting on the bubble counteract each other exactly.

There are two main forces at work here: the cohesion from surface tension of the soap solution, and gravity.

Surface tension pulls the soap bubble together. Due to the slope of the bottle, this causes the bubble to move upward along the sides of the bottle. As the bubble is pulled together, it gets thicker, reducing the surface-area-to-mass ratio of the bubble. This reduces the surface tension, so the bubble is pulled together more weakly.

On the other hand, gravity pulls the bubble down, and due to the slope of the bottle, this stretches the bubble out to be more thin. This increases the effect of the surface tension because the surface-area-to-mass ratio increases.

What you have here is the optimal spot at which the force due to gravity and the cohesion of the soap counteract each other exactly.

Sort of like balancing a weight on a spring: gravity pulls the weight down, the spring pushes the weight up. If the spring is too compressed, it exerts more upward force, and if the spring is overstretched then the spring exerts less force. There is a spot in the middle where they counterbalance one another exactly, and the weight naturally will come to rest in the position where the two forces counteract each other exactly.

2

u/cyclik Feb 06 '23

You're dumb

2

u/NukeQke47 Feb 06 '23

Oh, that's just Fred. He does that a lot.

2

u/Few_Examination_6555 Feb 06 '23

Not like there’s a bubble right there in the middle. Idiot (Remove if it offends you don’t ban)

2

u/Talanax Feb 06 '23

Glitch in the simulation? The fuck

2

u/coocoocachoo699 Feb 06 '23

You can literally see the reason plain as day in 95% of the posts in this sub. Should rename the sub to, right in front of my nose and couldn't see. Or if it was a snake it would have bit you.

2

u/Thecoopoftheworld789 Feb 06 '23

Looks like a hair.

1

u/PeregerSamy Feb 05 '23

looks like it was being pulled by an invisible string or something, maybe surface tension idk man

1

u/signfrommars Feb 06 '23

This is how religions start...

1

u/Such-Establishment78 Feb 07 '23

Lol I just literally saw this on my soap yesterday. Same bottle/brand. Mying looked more like a nipple

1

u/GrapeApeAffe Feb 06 '23

Some of my best sessions have been when I didn’t feel like it, but went to hang with friends anyway. But then again, Sometimes it’s ok not to.

1

u/Seaweed_867 Feb 06 '23

Easy. You have a ghost in your house

1

u/PhantomFreezy Feb 06 '23

I always found that on my soap bottle, it's normal alot

1

u/Ouch50 Feb 06 '23

Because Jesus.

1

u/Antique-Flight-5358 Feb 06 '23

Please keep the tip clean...this is unhygienic

1

u/Nacho_Chungus_Dude Feb 06 '23

A hair dangling inside the bottle with a drop of soap on the end?

1

u/InformalDemand7350 Feb 06 '23

Bigfoot probably

1

u/stutjohnsnewsqueegee Feb 06 '23

I’m not saying it’s aliens but it’s aliens.

u/Not_MySpaceTom Feb 06 '23

“I would imagine the inside of a bottle of cleaning fluid is really clean.” - M. Hedberg

1

u/Evening-Wait4891 Feb 06 '23

It was indeed a buuuubbbble

1

u/Automatic_Shallot724 Feb 06 '23

It was a inner bubble

1

u/AnarciSon Feb 06 '23

Bouancy and air density in the bottle, BOOM lol

1

u/Low-Drive-7454 Feb 06 '23

Looks like soap clinging to a piece of hair.

1

u/sharingiscaring219 Feb 06 '23

That's a droplet of soap at the bottom of a bubble. It's not two bubbles, that's just the bottom point (droplet of soap under bubble) shifting due to changing gravitational pull when the bottle is moved.

1

u/kripacharya69 Feb 06 '23

1

u/saito200 Feb 06 '23

I see no mystery there, what is happening is visually apparent

1

u/Lukaroast Feb 06 '23

Oh boy this sub is really taking that downhill turn…

1

u/MonzieMe Feb 06 '23

It isn't a soap bubble, it's a drop of liquid sliding on a bubble that's stretched across the bottle inside.... I mean.... how did you live this far never seeing anything like it... my kids would know what it is. It's kinda scary this baffles you... while you use and understand words like "plane" in this context. Also life really isn't a simulation and glitches really do not happen 😅 physics are holistic and entire and do not budge for nothing 💙💙💙

1

u/Head-Emphasis7560 Feb 06 '23

It just dawned on me. Theres a bubble!

1

u/Mudgekeewis Feb 06 '23

No one should have to explain that to you

1

u/stefanSfermat Feb 06 '23

Hold the bottle still if you want to be taken seriously.

1

u/Droid-Man5910 Feb 06 '23

So, a drop of soap on a buble film bouncing around because you are shaking the bottle. And you upload that here acting like you want an explanation.

1

u/CharismarInc Feb 06 '23

Bubble on a hair or web

1

u/Sh4dowCh1ld Feb 06 '23

Wack post! it’s clearly a layer of soap the bubble is gliding on

1

u/Beautiful_Guess7131 Feb 06 '23

Could it be aliens? Possibly

1

u/eekumseekum Feb 06 '23

My vote is a hair.

1

u/finian2 Feb 06 '23

Holy shit the comment section in this sub is getting toxic af. So many people whining and acting like this is a common occurrence or something.

1

u/CokaYoda Feb 06 '23

You explained it well enough yourself. No black magic to see here

1

u/The_Great_HamSack Feb 06 '23

The real mystery is why are you breathing so hard, just holding a soap bottle?

1

u/taekee Feb 06 '23

I can, but I won't

1

u/Trainmodeler8888 Feb 06 '23

Did you update recently? They fixed this in the latest patch notes

1

1

u/CaptainTarantula Feb 06 '23

Quantum superposition at a macro scale.

1

u/Ready-Map-2187 Feb 06 '23

“Invisible plane” oook. And I have nooo fat roles. Dick around some more OP

1

u/Hazelsea1099 Feb 06 '23

It’s got electrolytes, it’s what soap craves.

1

u/One-Broccoli-5772 Feb 06 '23

Life hasn't rendered that the soap is gone yet. The particles haven't despawned yet.

1

u/AubinSan93 Feb 06 '23

Come on...

1

u/Crab_Hot Feb 06 '23

Uhh... Yeah... I thought it was pretty obvious. There was a "bubble" across the top of the bottle, like a film. Think of a "trampoline" style film that made the "plane" you speak of. There was a drop of detergent hanging onto it. That's it.

1

u/Resident_Platypus_18 Feb 06 '23

It’s on another bubble. Lol

1

u/ChristianMingle_ca Feb 06 '23

i think your an idiot, there are two bubbles in this video…

1

u/Away-Ninja5326 Feb 06 '23

Looks like a bubble floating on a bubble…

1

Sure looks like a glob of soap attached to a hair

1

u/DoIplaybasketball Feb 06 '23

Why are people upvoting this garbage

1

u/project12212021 Feb 06 '23

Bubble Inside another Bubble 💯 You can Clearly see the Bubble on the Bottle (then when they shook it hard enough it Burst)!!! No Magic Here 😅

1

u/whyarewestillhere3 Feb 06 '23

The dark side of the bottle is a gateway to many abilities some would consider to be... unnatural

1

u/DatTrashPanda Feb 06 '23

It's a bubble on a bubble

1

u/Chavestvaldt Feb 06 '23

professional scientician here - the bubble is merely vibing

1

u/TortoiseHawk Feb 06 '23

Invisible plane?? The edges of the bubble are clear as day on the bottle… how thick are you?

1

u/majorblackk Feb 06 '23

Yeah I had the same bug. I don’t think God released the patch to fix this yet

1

u/That_Walrus3455 Feb 06 '23

You clearly see the bubble. So the bubble is not sporadically floating

1

u/hellofanamehuh Feb 06 '23

You answered your own question.

Call a priest

1

People nowadays would call glitch in a matrix just because they dont understand.

1

u/Medical_Bumblebee627 Feb 06 '23

How about you rinse off the top of the bottle every once in a while? Enough coagulated soap up there to do a whole sink full.

1

u/MingMah Feb 06 '23

Can literally see the bubble edge on the bottle lol invisible plane

1

u/jerrythecactus Feb 06 '23

There's a bubble membrane in the bottle that this droplet of soap is gliding on without breaking its surface tension.

1

u/SlyFoxInACave Feb 06 '23

It's a fucking bubble jfc people are entertained by anything now days. This sub has gone to shit.

1

u/SlyFoxInACave Feb 06 '23

1600 people are baffled by soap..

1

u/Random_G Feb 06 '23

Pretty easy to explain and to see... OP just stupid.

1

u/Raziel1110101 Feb 06 '23

Yeah or there is a hair in your nasty ass soap bottle!

1

u/Designer-Ad-2585 Feb 06 '23

The plane is very much visible

1

u/tekktokk Feb 06 '23

What are they putting in our soap for this effect? This cannot be natural. We all know this wasn't happening 20 years ago. We as a nation need to ask what the hell is going on.

1

u/1Hollickster Feb 06 '23

It is floating on a bubble. And it is a glob doing it.🤗

1

u/Even-Refrigerator481 Feb 06 '23 edited Feb 06 '23

It's not a floating bubble but a hanging drip. They also break. Makes more sense. Look at how it moves. It's swinging. Not floating.

1

u/Bloodlosswithasmile Feb 06 '23

A drop of soap gliding on a soap bubble inside the container. When the drop of soap hits the edge wall it pops the bubble

1

u/Simple-Dragonfly-425 Feb 06 '23

How does this get attention and I don't? 😐

Glitch it the matrix. Quick, destroy the bottle, act like nothing happened.

1

ive seen this before. that line around the bottle is a lg bubble formed n the neck of the bottle. some of the dish liquid is sitting on the bubble and sliding back and forth

That is a drop of soapy water dancing under a bubble film that spans the whole bottle.
